What is a Sediment Filter?
This Membrane Solutions® Brand sediment filter is often the first filter installed in the Reverse Osmosis circuit and acts as a net as it catches unwanted particles, including sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles. Sediment filters are made of fine melted polypropylene, which is then blown and spun into a cylinder-like form. Polypropylene is a substance that is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removal of these particles allows filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filters, to perform better and for longer periods of time. These particles and pollutants come from water sources, old and dirty pipes, as well as contaminants that are used to treat the water.
Features:
Standard Universal Filter Cartridge: Melt blown filter cartridge with 10" Length and 2.5" Outside Diameter. Filtration Size is 1 Micron / 5 Micron. Compatible with a wide rage of industrial filter housings and the whole house filter housings.
Less Replacement Frequency: Three separate gradient density layers enhance cartridge performance,higher dirt-holding capacity than the similar sized sediment cartridge. Recommended change-out when the pressure is 30psi (2.1bar).
Filtration Efficiency is Over 99.8%: High flow rate, low pressure drop, superior chemical resistance through use of 100% polypropylene which cause no pollution to water. Recommended operating temperature is 85˚F to 150˚F (30˚C to 82˚C).
Protect Process Equipment: Prevent the equipment from being affected by contaminants during use, resulting in a decrease in service life. Resolve water quality concerns with MS products for efficient, reliable process water filtration.
Guarantee: This filter meets NSF (National Science Foundation) Standard 42 Certified.
Lifetime: We recommend replacement every six months or earlier depending on the amount of sediment in your water. Can be used with household water filter, with well water filtering, and more.
